    Just some VERY astounding INFO. about diabetes

    Diabetes is a growing global problem of devastating social and economic impact. More than 246 million people worldwide have diabetes. If nothing is done, this figure will exceed 380 million by 2025. More than 3.5 million people die of diabetes-related causes every year. Diabetes is a leading cause of blindness, kidney failure, heart attack, stroke and amputation. Despite the shocking statistics, awareness about diabetes and its complications remains pitifully low.

    Diabetes lurks in the shadows, threatening to overwhelm healthcare services and undermine economies worldwide. The disease can only emerge from the shadows if world leaders pay attention and respond to the threat. The global diabetes community has asked the United Nations to lead the response and declare a UN Resolution on diabetes.

    Help bring diabetes out of the shadows. Play your part in raising awareness of diabetes and its complications.

    Sign the online petition in support of a United Nations Resolution on diabetes.
