I received this TB in the mail and am proud to set it off on it's journey to help raise awareness about diabetes.

I wanted to be a part of the "Unite for Diabetes" because diabetes runs in my family and I have seen first hand how the disease can adversely effect so many lives if not quickly and properly diagnosed and treated. Go get tested NOW!

My grandfather lost his eye sight because of diabetes. He once told me that when he envisioned me, he saw my face as it was when I was a small child- before he lost his eyesight. I was about 18 at the time and his words had a very profound effect on me. I suddenly realized what was taken from him- that he would never be able to see his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up.

My grandfather never once seemed bitter that he had lost his eyesight. He was a real inspiration to many people in the community. Everyone loved "Mr. Scott". For me, this Travel Bug is sent out to honor my "PawPaw".
