    TB drop. I requested one of these special edition Unite for Diabetes travel bugs because my mother was a sufferer of diabetes for many years and I thought this would be a nice way to honor her. Unfortunately, before I could drop the travel bug into a cache, she passed away from ovarian cancer, which she had been battling for just over four years. With everything that's been going on, it's been only recently that I've been able to get back into the cache hunt. This cache is the closest to where I work, and this morning was a wonderful time to stop by. I've added my mom's photo and a brief message in her honor on the travel bug info paper that is accompanying the TB. Hopefully these special TBs will inspire everyone in their own personal fight.

    IN HONOR OF JEAN ALLENE KENNEDY COCHRAN

    This special travel bug was sent to me at the beginning of the promotion in January 2007. I requested the special bug to be sent to me because my mother was a long-time sufferer of diabetes, and I thought this would be a special way to honor her. She had also been battling a stage 3-C diagnosis of ovarian cancer for over four years. Soon after I had the travel bug in my possession, on January 23, my mom lost her fight with ovarian cancer. I have added one of my last photos of my mom (and my niece) to the travel bug. The photo is also uploaded to this log.

    I'm writing this log on March 9, and hope to place the TB this weekend. I'm dating the log January 23, in my mom's honor. Sorry for the delay in getting this one moving along! -Coralgeo

    • Coralgeo's mom and Jellybean This is one of my last, and favorite, photos of my mom (and my niece, Jellybean). It was taken the second week of December 2006 while I was visiting. My mom suffered from diabetes for a number of years, as did her mom and aunt. My mom lost her four-plus-year battle against ovarian cancer on January 23, 2007.
