    This cache provides a great view of the city of Las Cruces, especially the Organ Mountains to the east of th city.

    • The Organ Mountains The Organ Mountains is the main mountain range to the east of the city. The highest point of the Organs is the Organ Needle, which stands approximately 5,000 feet above the city of Las Cruces at 8,990 feet above sea level.

    The name "Las Cruces" translates from Spanish as "The Crosses," due to the location of three crosses that once lay in the spot of the city. Because of this history, the city displays three crosses along Main Street.
