I was made aware of diabetes not too long ago. Although I don't have the disease yet, I have started to control my blood sugar levels by watching what I eat and drink as preventive measures. I prefer that over taking drugs.
I stopped drinking fruit juices and soft drinks. I've reduced consumption of white bread and white rice. Result? I'm less thirsty and don't need to go to the toilet as often, and that's very useful when Geocaching on a hike.
