It's with me now. Diabetes has touched my life. A very close family member lives with diabetes and I see what an impact it has on his day to day activities. Although generally under control, you never know when it is going to rear its ugly head and make its presence known. We were recently at Arlington National Cemetary when he had a blood sugar emergency. All I had was diet candies and a granola bar, and he had left his candy at home. Did you know they don't sell food at the cemetary?

It was a scary moment.

I'm glad to see this UNITE program bringing attention to this life altering disease.
