Amarillo is in the center of the Texas panhandle, and it is the focus of many songs in country music, such as "Amarillo by Morning". British Army Dragoons even made a music video of "Is this the way to Amarillo?": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZI5y1cNpbYo.
Although I live very far from there now, Amarillo holds a special place in my heart as it is my home town. My family, which resides in and around Amarillo, has been greatly affected by diabetes. My grandmother and two of my four aunts have type B diabetes. My other grandmother also had it, but has since passed away due to complications from fighting diabetes. In the years before she died, these complications required the amputation of her legs and were a very strong contributor to three strokes. I would love to see this travel bug reach it's destination and maybe see it when I visit my family.
