I have been very interested in this cache for a couple of months. I mean who wouldn't be? The intrigue, the adventure, the TRAVEL BUGS!

I finally decided that I could make the trip today. I got up early, that's 8am for me, and hit the road. I printed out many other cache sheets for the Milpitas area just in case the gate wasn't opened yet. Luckily that wasn't a problem, and I headed straight up the hill. I took the drive slow this was definitely a road to be careful on. I was glad no one decided to come barreling down while I was headed up. Saw a FOR SALE real estate sign on the way up. Maybe some geocacher can buy the place and then we can keep the gate open 24/7. Somewhere along the way the road turned to gravel, and I began to get worried that my little Escort might have trouble. Soon enough however it was back to pavement and I continued on. Finally, I got to a place in the road where the drop off went away so I looked at my GPS. I was a few hundred feet away from the cache. I drove a bit farther and parked off to the side.

Once I got out of my car it was fairly easy to find GZ. I had been wondering why all the fuss about bringing kids...now I knew. Let it be said that I am not a kid, I am a full grown man 6'3", 290lbs, but I still loved this cache. I was able to find appropriate tools to retrieve the cache, although I got a bit muddy in the process. As I headed back over to the car it started to sprinkle. Inside the car I opened up the treasure chest, and boy was it overflowing with goodies. I went and grabbed what I had come for 4 beautiful trackables. I decided not to leave any trackables here, because it seems this cache doesn't get a lot of activity. I tried to replace the cache as I had found it but my "Geo tools" weren't helping with that. I did the best I could, I apologize for not doing better.

I carefully turned my car around on the narrow road and headed back down the hill. Talk about a view...the way that this road is perched above the cities below is amazing! Speaking of perches, as I drove down slowly I saw no less then 4 beautiful hawks. They all were sitting atop the fence posts at different spots along the road, almost as if each had its own territory to check for food. They would kinda look at me and then at the last second as the car passed them they would fly off.

This cache proved to be every bit of what I wanted out of it. Exciting, relaxing, rewarding! Thank you for bringing me out to the boonies, I had a great time.

NOTE: I grabbed the four bugs when I was in the car. Later I couldn't find two of them. They either fell down in the bottom of my car (it's a mess) OR I accidentally put them back into the cache. I can't drive back up there anytime soon, so we might have to wait and see. As soon as I get time I'll do a complete check of my car. Sorry for the trouble.
