A pleasant stroll rewarded by good views across St Austell Bay. The cache overlooks the Gwineas Rock (an island). Note that just beyond that, to its right, you can see the Qwineas cardinal buoy (east marker). On a clear day there are good views of Polruan (by Fowey), Looe Island, Rame Head (this side of Plymouth) and often the Eddystone lighthouse (just south of east - magnetic bearing 104 deg.)
This cache can be reached either from the car park at Lamledra (N 50 14.198 W 004 47.430), or from Gorran Haven village car park (N 50 14.428 W 004 47.458) and walking down towards the beach, turning right along the coastal path just before you reach the beach. In either case the walk can encompass a stroll along to Vault Beach, north of the Dodman Point. Because this beach is less accessible than many, it is usually fairly quiet even in the summer months.
Sandwich box style cache, containing mainly small tools, padlocks etc. Enjoy the walk - and the views.
