The first item is a late 19th century "lock-up box." The story is
that this device was used to temporarily hold criminals who had
been caught in the neighborhood by foot patrols until the
horse-drawn police carridge arrived to take the suspect to jail. By
the looks of the device, one imagines that this prospect alone
might deter crime in the area- at least on a hot summer day!
The second item is a historical plaque describing a nearby
battle. It is on this sign that you will obtain the information
needed to complete coordinates for the actual cache. Read the
plaque and apply the information as follows:
Cache Coordinates:
N 33° 45.XXX
W 084° 2Y.YYY
Take the time of the described event and add it to the
number 108 to get XXX.
Take the year of the described event and add it to the
number 123 to get YYYY.
_ _ _ + 108 = 33 45. _ _ _
(time)
_ _ _ _ + 123 = 084 2 _ . _ _ _
(year)
The cache location is at the site of a historical utility that
was purchased by a developer in 1997 and turned into a park.
NOTE: You DO NOT need to climb on or enter the structure in any
way to find the cache. The cache is a micro, so bring a
pen!
Happy hunting!
