Geocache Description:

The Moonville Cache Project

If you Enjoy it! Please vote it as one of your Favorites

The gold cache is gone and that is really sad. No one would have just walked over that and if they did seeing it and how it was painted and well marked they would not have just walked away with it. The person(s) who took it knew what they did and that is a shame.

We paint up another ammo box to replaced the old one. It's
in it's new home now and the Waypoint above reflects that.

Thanks for all the support and help with this box so Please Enjoy the moonville tunnel as well as Kings Tunnel.

The Spice Weasel's

===================================================
Back in November 2003 we started out by the idea of placing a cache at the Moonville Tunnel. This tunnel has had a colorful past. It was built in the 1800's.

We contacted ODNR about placing a ammo box. We promissed to keep this box at least 100 yards from the tunnel. Yavin painted the box for us a bright gold and painted a picture of the moonville tunnel on the side. The box is the coolest looking cache box any of us have ever seen.

The Project was to be in Feburary 2004. As we headed out to place this box we had about 19 people in tow from all over Ohio and Kentucky. When we got to the Lake Hope area and headed back to the tunnel we were stopped by a lack of road. Yep, It got a little warm and rained and melted all the snow. This whole area was 8 feet under water.

We took a group picture and said we would come back again. In May we were going to do it again. The day before we were to go. A ripping rain storm filled up the area again :O(

Well we headed out on the 19th of June with two groups. The first group was going to place the cache and take in sites while the 2nd group showed up later that night to find the cache and see if there was really a ghost in the Moonville Tunnel. (Caching in the Dark)

A total of 34 different people from 4 Geocaching clubs showed up from Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and West Va to help in the placing of this cache over the months. We hope this becomes a cache that everyone wants to find and enjoy as much as we did in placing it.
