LE SACRE DES COULEURS
Après avoir organisé 2 Méga Events, l'un à Châlons en Champagne en novembre 2012 et le Sacre de Signal à Reims en avril 2017, l'Association des Géocacheurs de Champagne vous invite à son 3ème rassemblement international à Sainte-Menehould du Vendredi 7 juin 2019 au Lundi 10 juin 2019.
Le Méga "Le Sacre des Couleurs" aura lieu le Samedi 8 juin à partir de 9h30 salle Valmy.
Située aux confins de la Champagne et à l'orée de la forêt d'Argonne, Sainte-Ménehould est une ville pittoresque qui a vu naître Dom Pérignon, "l'inventeur du Champagne".
La ville basse reconstruite au début du XVIIIe siècle après un terrible incendie (1719), entoure la butte dite "du château", qui a gardé un aspect moyenâgeux avec ses maisons à pans de bois.
La cité fut souvent placée au cœur de l'histoire.
A l'emplacement de l'actuelle gendarmerie, Drouet, maître de poste, reconnut Louis XVI alors qu'il tentait de fuir le pays, le 21 juin 1791.
Sur le tout proche site de Valmy, s'affrontèrent prussiens et français le 20 septembre 1792. Le Général Kellermann, sous les ordres de Dumouriez, commandait le centre de l'Armée Française et occupait le plateau près du moulin. À découvrir, le centre d'interprétation de la bataille de Valmy, situé au pied du moulin.
La ville et ses environs furent le théâtre de batailles durant la Première Guerre Mondiale. À découvrir, la main de Massiges (combats de Champagne), la Vallée Moreau (camp de retranchement allemand), la Haute Chevauchée, la butte de Vauquois, la nécropole de Romagne-sous-Montfaucon (USA), et le mémorial de Montfaucon (USA).
La spécialité culinaire est "le pied de cochon à la Sainte-Ménehould" dont il existe une confrérie.
L'Allée des Couleurs, notre partenaire pour cet évènement, met en lumière au coeur de la forêt d'Argonne, entre Valmy et Sainte-Ménehould, les paysages, les traditions, l'histoire et la culture au travers de quatre nuances :
- Bleu : détente et remise en forme
- Rouge : sports et loisirs
- Jaune : histoire, traditions, culture
- Vert : nature et découverte.

After having organized 2 Mega Events, the first one at Châlons-en-Champagne in November 2012 and “Le Sacre de Signal”at Reims in April 2017, the Association of Geocachers of Champagne invites you to its 3rd international gathering at Sainte-Menehould, from Friday, June 7, 2019 to Monday, June 10, 2019.
The Mega "Le Sacre des Couleurs" will take place on Saturday, June 8th from 9:30 am Valmy room.
Located at the borders of the Champagne region and the edge of the Argonne forest, Sainte-Ménehould is a picturesque city that saw the birth of Dom Perignon, "the inventor of Champagne".
The lower town rebuilt at the beginning of the XVIIIth century after a terrible fire (1719), surrounds the mound known as "of the Castle', which kept a medieval appearance with its timber-framed houses.
The city was often placed at the heart of the story.
On the site of the current gendarmerie, Drouet, Postmaster, recognized Louis XVI as he tried to flee the country, on June 21, 1791.
On the nearby site of Valmy, fought Prussians and french on September 20, 1792. General Kellermann, under the command of Dumouriez, commanded the centre of the French army and occupied the plateau near the mill. Nachdem die Association des Géocacheurs de Champagne im November 2012 in Châlons en Champagne und im April 2017 in Reims zwei Mega-Events organisiert hat, lädt sie zu ihrem dritten internationalen Treffen nach Sainte-Menehould ein von Freitag, 7. Juni 2019 bis Montag, 10. Juni 2019.
Das Mega "Le Sacre des Couleurs" findet am Samstag, den 8. Juni ab 9.30 Uhr in Valmy statt.
Sainte-Ménehould ist eine malerische Stadt am Grenzen der Champagne und am Rande des Waldes von Argonne, wo Dom Pérignon, "der Erfinder der Champagne“, geboren wurde.
Die Unterstadt, die zu Beginn des 18. Jahrhunderts nach einem schrecklichen Brand (1719) wiederaufgebaut wurde, umgibt den sogenannten "Schlossberg", der mit seinen Fachwerkhäusern einen mittelalterlichen Charakter bewahrt hat.
Die Stadt wurde oft in den Mittelpunkt der Geschichte gestellt.
An der Stelle der heutigen Gendarmerie erkannte Drouet, Postmeister, Louis XVI. während er am 21. Juni 1791 versuchte, das Land zu verlassen.
Am 20. September 1792 stießen Preußen und Franzosen auf der ganz nahen Seite von Valmy aufeinander. General Kellermann, unter Dumouriez, kommandierte das Zentrum der französischen Armee und besetzte das Plateau in der Nähe der Mühle. Zu entdecken ist das Interpretationszentrum der Schlacht von Valmy am Fuße der Mühle.

Die kulinarische Spezialität ist " Schweinefuß in Sainte-Ménehould", von der es eine Bruderschaft gibt.
