Welcome to the Bling Shelter Power Run
We decided that South Eastern NC needed a power trail! What better place to put one than this lovely gameland.
This Power Run has over 600 caches that are placed along the Holly Shelter gameland roads. Most of the containers are small Tupperware containers so you will need to bring your own pen. If you cannot find a cache.. Please feel free to put a cache down in its place or replace a log….but atleast attempt it first. It is ok to leap frog caches by taking a cache and placing it where the next one lays so you can sign in the car.

I received a message from the offices at the Wildlife Resources Commission in the interest of the geocaching community. There are restrictions of geocaching during the Youth Turkey Season (April 4 – April 10) and the regular Turkey season (April 11 – May 9). Geocaching will be prohibited during these times. Geocachers will still be able to use Holly Shelter Game Lands on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday as this particular game lands is a three day per week hunting area (Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.)
If you do not follow these guidelines, we imagine tickets or fines will be issued. We are taking the time to put this information in each cache description. Please be mindful and respectful to these regulations.
This is the wilderness so be on the lookout for bears, deer, hunters and alligators.
Hunters may be present during hunting season.. please be respectful and the roads can be a challenge when wet (4x4is recommended)
The gates are open from September 1st to April 1st and April 4th to May 9th with restrictions…. but you can bike or hike the rest of the year…. You will want to enter at the gate near Topsail Baptist Church on Hwy 17 to start at #1 but you can also enter off of Shaw Hwy at 2 different entry points to start in the 300’s and 500’s. Most of the caches are hidden right off the main road or by landmarks, minimum bushwhacking is required.
