Einsamer, alpiner Cache in beeindruckender Umgebung
Secluded, alpine cache with impressive surroundings
Dieser Cache führt Euch in eine eindrucksvolle Schlucht auf der Südseite des Höllengebirges.

Die Koordinaten sind aufgrund der steilen Felswände nicht exakt, daher bitte der Beschreibung folgen:
Am Höllbach aufwärts und bevor der Spitzalmgraben einmündet den Bach bei einer alten Staumauer überqueren (Wegpunkt im Listing). Dann weiter auf der Nordseite des Baches und vor der Wand des Sulzkogels durch die rechte Schlucht hinauf (Foto) Zuerst über Blöcke, dann über glattgeschliffenen, festen Fels genußvoll aufwärts. Der erste sperrende große Stein wird links umklettert, beim zweiten geht es unterhalb durch und innen hinauf - eine tolle Stelle (siehe das Bild weiter oben). Bei Gabelung der Schlucht links über glatte Platten hinauf (am linken Rand sind gute Griffe) und dort wo die Platten aufhören links eine flache Rinne hinauf bis unter ein Wandl (Foto). Links hinaus um eine Kante queren und hinauf zur Höhle und zum Cache.
Abstieg auf gleichem Weg oder von der Höhle nach rechts queren und die Fortsetzung der flachen Rinne hinauf und weiter zum Sulzkogel. Vom Sulzkogel kann man zur Ostwand des Segenbaumkogels queren und dann weiter zum Höllkogel (Cache AMI X). Oder aber auf dem in der ÖK 50 eingezeichneten Jagdsteig zum Cache Hubertushütte, ca. 2 - 2,5h. Der Jagdsteig ist anfänglich sehr undeutlich, erst ab Hasellahngang gut ausgeprägt. This cache will take you into an impressive gorge on the south side of the Höllengebirge.

Due to the steep rock faces, the cache coordinates are not very precise, so please follow the description below:
Follow the Höllbach and cross the river before the Spitzalmgraben joins (see waypoint below where to cross). Continue along the northern side of the river towards the face of Sulzkogel where you turn right (Photo). Follow the gorge (enjoy!) climbing under the big block shown in the picture above until the gorge widens and forks. Take the left branch climbing up some slabs and when they flatten out turn left, up a shallow gully. Where it is blocked by a little rockface traverse left around a corner and climb up to a cave with the cache.
Descent: Same route or continue right from the cave back into the continuation of the shallow gully and up to the summit of the Sulzkogel. From there you can traverse to the east-face of Segenbaumkogel and on to Höllkogel (Cache AMI X). Or you try and find the hunters path shown in the Austrian map ÖK 50 to (online version on bergfex.at) to the cache Hubertushütte, approx. 2 - 2,5h. The hunters path is very indistinct at the beginning until Hasellahngang. Some waypoints on the track are listed above.
Attention: Only attempt this cache if you have alpine experience!
