Choc 22- Raspberry Cream Traditional Geocache
Cache and Cake Club: Thank to everyone over the years who has found this cache, but due to lack of time it is becoming impossible to keep it up to the standard expected of a cache series, so it is time to archive.

The Chocolate Series is the second series set by The Cache and Cake Club. This is a walk of 23 caches over a distance of 6.5km or 4 miles.
The series begins up on Hendred Down where there is ample free parking. The circular walk takes you over the Downs towards ‘Lands End’ then back up via the Isley Downs Riding Route where you will get some amazing views. The return stretch takes in Scutchamers Knob, here you will find an existing cache. Scutchamers Knob is an early Iron Age round barrow. If you are interested in Trig Points, then you will pass Fore Down pillar (S5826) just near Scutchamers. A memorial stone to Penelope Betjeman is the location for cache 17, the stone has been placed at an excellent view point.
This series is aimed at families as the caches are all placed in quick succession. For those with buggies, there aren’t any stiles or gates to negotiate. Bikes are allowed as the whole series is set on restricted byways. The paths and route is well marked. Please take care as there is one 200 meter stretch of quiet road. One can walk along the grass verge, though it is a little overgrown right now. Dogs will be quite happy at the walk, as well as the road, there is one section where they will need to be on the lead. For the dogs who don’t like cattle, this is a cattle free route!
There are a variety of cache containers on this series. We have used 2 micros in the series, the rest of the caches are either small or regular sized and full of swaps. Due to the terrain, the cache hides are all very easy and all fairly similar. There is a long stretch of 500 metres between caches 14 and 15, this is because we didn’t want to place a cache within view of the farm house. We also couldn’t find somewhere to place a cache that wasn’t waist high with nettles!
When placing the caches, we spotted Red Kites, Buzzards, rabbits and horses. In the distance as you head away from the parking, you will see fields of poppies. The views on the final stretch are excellent and on a clear day you will be able to see for miles.
Please bring a pen - not all caches contain one.
