Gypsey Race I Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Dalesman: This cache has been in need of care and maintenance for some time and as the owner has not responded to recent logs I am archiving it.

Guidelines: "You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to maintain proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable amount of time - normally a few weeks - in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing."

If you wish to email me please send your email via my profile (click on my name) and quote the cache name and number.

Many thanks,
DalesmanX

Geocache Description:

The first of a series of Caches we will be placing to highlight the Gypsey Race Stream.

This, according to folklore, is the ceremonial centre of the Gypsey Race Stream. From the cache you can see the Duggleby Howe in the distance and in the cache you will find coordinates to the spot where you can see the first bit of the Gypsey Race visible from the road.

There is space for one car to pull up just before the cache, or you could walk up from the centre of the beautiful village.

This Cache is the beginning of the project: Geo Art Cache.

A new series of geocache trails created by artists, which will take you on a series of walks and journeys across North Yorkshire.

Geo Art Caches are being hidden throughout the county - for you to find!

You can hunt for creative finds among the spectacular landscapes of North Yorkshire, exploring what the region has to offer.

Keep an eye out for more caches and a cache event in the future.

The cache is a piece of tupperware and contains a log book, pencil, a Gorilla looking for a good home, a sketch book, a wire sculpture and some information about the art project.
