Located in a nice little coppice beside the Nene Valley Line. Tarmac public footpath up until it goes into the coppice where it becomes flat compacted dirt paths, which then rejoin’s the tarmac on the other side or complete a circular walk to return back to where you entered the coppice.
Parking at Orton Mere and following the path past the station and around the bend, take a minute to have a peek at the observation point that looks out over a small lake/pond with reed beds around it. When I was doing my recce for the cache I was lucky enough to see a King Fisher hovering about 5ft above the water (not perched) then dive in for a small fish and fly off, then when walking through the coppice I came face to face with a muntjac deer. I hope you see something.
The cache is a micro and is in disguise so eyes peeled.
Log sheet only so please bring pen/pencil and something to lean on.
Thanks to the Nene Park Trust for the kind permission for this cache.
Good luck, good hunting and have fun
