bernsa: Unfortunately I could not locate the cache and given three circumstances I shall describe in more detail below, I will not be refreshing this cache.
First, this last version had always been in my mind the third and final replacement. If the last form of this cache got muggled, then clearly it's a local land owner or someone else who is intentionally removing the cache. The location was carefully selected due to its relevance to the National Airspace System in that it was on a very specific line and as such relocating it is not something I'm interested in, and with someone purposely and knowingly removing the cache, I have decided to not fight that struggle any longer.
Second, the relevancy of ROYIL which has been a significant waypoint for local aviation has significantly changed in the past few years. RNAV (GPS based procedureS) have largely replaced the traditional procedures that this waypoint is based on and hardly any aviation traffic flies overhead any longer. As such, it's just not as interesting as it once had been.
Third, the companion cache of this (DYLIN) will be archived due to changes to new over burdened New Jersey DEP rules which I have chosen to not comply with (i.e. I plan to archive the existing cache rather than comply with their new permitting requirements and restrictions and frankly their threats). As such, I'm putting this "entire" series to rest now given the challenges with both locations. More had been planned, but those are now permanently shelved and likely to never be revisited by me.
I hope those who have experienced the cache, enjoyed their experience, and apologies to those who had to search for it with all the mugglings that have happened in the past, and those who took the time to solve the puzzle and never got to find the cache. With that said, the spots open, I don't recommend at this time that anyone place new caches in the area due to the locals.
I'm sad to archive this entire series, but I feel it's the best move all around. With this cache's archival, I no longer maintain any physical hides in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Thanks for visiting!
ROYIL (GC2CHRT) was active from July 31, 2010 to March 16, 2015 (4 years, 8 months, and 17 days).
In that time there were 11 finds, 8 DNFs, and 10 TBs that traveled through the cache. It had 0 Favorite Points at the time it was archived.
Congratulations to WanderingExplorer for the FTF!
Honorable mention to Serrabou for STF and Gaiter Man for TTF.
Thanks WVKiwi for the LTF.
