Geocache Description:

Holy well, known locally as "Monk's Cave" is in fact a magnificant garden ornament from the era of Capability Brown, built within the grounds of Thorpe Hall. This used to be a favourite "hang out" for my friends and I (Mrs Ferret). Back then, we used to be able to get into the "cave", unfortunately now they have locked the gate. There is a lot of history here, and a fascinating read for some of you who may be interested on the related web page, which also includes pictures.

Due to the proximatey of water, extreme caution is to be taken on approach to the gate. Would not recommend doing this at night because there are ponds here and a lot of mole hills in the grass.
