Geocache Description:

Cache is now located on the roadside opposite the heritage village on a busy road. While the terrain is very flat, the traffic can be fast and furious - especially the mighty trucks that thunder along during week days. It is now only possibly to catch glimpses of what lies beyond the tall hedge only at the gate. The village is NOT open to the public.

I often drive by this area and always wonder who lives here. Old buildings continue to sprout up and resettle in this area. After some time in this new environment each building rejuvenates into a new life of its former glory. In the right light, they glisten and glow, ready to chat about their past life. A recent newspaper article gave insight of this "retirement village".

The Village is a private collection of Christchurch buildings that Diana, Lady Isaac has saved from demolition since 2000. How does a Lady save a village? One building at a time; often one brick at a time. Unwanted heritage buildings are transported here and restored on this site. Hopefully it will eventually be open to the public but for now, the cache is located where you may have a sneak preview.

Update: 26 April 2014
What started out as a 500mL container (2009), then 300mL (2011) is now sadly only a small 20mL camo container.
Update: 13 April 2015 - Now 250mL container
