Geocache Description:

The plant community in the reserve occurs no where else in Australia, apart from the north and north western suburbs of Sydney. This is the Blue Gum High Forest and it is on the brink of extinction. Only 1% of the original forest remains. Restoration work by bush care groups, is under way to allow the native plants to regenerate and preserve this endangered community.

The listed coordinates take you to the beginning of the Ponds Walk and a great lookout to view the city in the distance. This whole area was originally a series of swamps and creeks, flowing through the Dundas Valley and eventually into the Parramatta River.

The cache is now a simple multi.

Waypoint 1- Find the year that Governor Arthur Phillip settled 14 former convicts and their families. Add this number to the following coordinates: S 33 45.246 E 151 01.434

GZ Take a lovely walk to the cache. Please re-hide it so it can't be discovered.
