After you have completed ALL 9 of either horizontal, vertical or the combination diagonal, you can claim "BINGO" and now claim the find.
The Difficulty rating for this challenge is 5 based on the requirements of the challenge. The Terrain rating of 2.5 relates to the final cache location.
This Challenge Cache will hopefully find a place for everyone to be able to complete, but it could be difficult physically or mentally and test your skills at being a geocacher.
- If your brain freezes at the thought of trying to find a 5 star difficulty cache or you just like to hike, then you should try the Horizontal Card.
- If you are not skilled at hiking and love the challenge of finding the cache, then you should should try the Vertical Card.
- But, if you are a GeocacheAholic (like myself) and enjoy any and all caches, then the true challenge in this game would be to go for the Diagonal Card and try for the line from 1/1 to 5/5 or from 5/1 to 1/5.
THE RULES!!
NO EXCEPTIONS
- ANY cache listed on Geocaching.com is valid for this challenge.
- Only Physical caches containing a logbook you have signed, qualify. (Virtual, Webcam, Earthcache and Event Caches do not qualify)
- You CANNOT claim a cache that you have previously or currently own.
- Only caches that were hidden & published at least ONE YEAR PRIOR to Your DATE OF "FOUND IT" LOG on this cache page will be considered a valid find to claim a block on a card. This means you may already have completed the challenge! Finds of caches published less than one year prior to your "found it" log date DO NOT qualify. (This is to deter trying to hide or have a cache hidden just to find it to complete your card.)
- Qualifying caches MUST BE ACTIVE. Archived or disabled caches DO NOT QUALIFY unless they were archived/disabled AFTER you logged your find.
- This Bingo Challenge cache DOES NOT qualify as a find for Difficulty 5 and Terrain 2.5.
- You may NOT log this cache as a find until the requirements have been met for each of the nine individual caches you use to fill your card. All rules pertaining to those caches must be followed as well.
- All finds (of this final cache) with non-qualifying logs WILL be deleted at my discretion.
WHEN YOU HAVE BINGO!
- You MUST venture to find the final cache and sign the logbook, but instead of yelling "Found It!" (when / if you do), you SHOULD yell out "BINGO!"
- Then you MUST (not optional) log your find and claim your by telling which card you have completed AND either:
- Listing the qualifying caches in your log with the date found, difficulty and terrain rating, (for non-premium or premium members).
OR
- Create and insert a link to YOUR bookmark list with each of your qualifying caches labeled with the date found, difficulty and terrain rating, (for premium members only due to feature of premium membership).
AND
- Take a picture of yourself with the "BINGO" sign in the cache container and post it with your log.
(This is OPTIONAL because of new guidelines from groundspeak put in place on April 3rd, 2009 and will not result in a deleted log. HOWEVER, as owner and creator, I would personally be grateful and enjoy seeing the smile on your face holding the BINGO sign. It would also be in good caching fun to show others your hard work at completing this Challenge. Besides, since you have come so far in completing the challenge, wouldn't you want others to see your accomplishment!)
- BONUS!!! - Three smileys are possible if you choose to complete each card, but you MUST follow the same rules and log as required for EACH card. However, only one visit to the final cache location is required AFTER you have completed at least ONE card. IF you have visited the final cache location and you want to log another card, you must state in your log that you have visited the final cache previously and the date of visit.
FTF PRIZE!
The OVERALL FTF prize is personal Geocoin (activated but never circulated) out of my collection, of my choosing that will be adopted to you. However, the coin is NOT in the cache container due to the fact that there, unfortunately, are some out there that would try to run and grab it without actually completing the Challenge. If you think you will be the potential FTF of this Challenge, you must send me a message with your list as stated above and when you will attempt the final. I may be able to accompany you and then give you the coin after the find. Sorry there are no FTF prizes for each Card! Only the first cacher that completes the Challenge.
The Greatest Cache Geocoin
The FTF prize was chosen by papabear178 from two coins presented.
FINAL CACHE LOCATION & INFO
- Upon arrival at the posted coordinates, you should be standing just above an obvious structure. At this location, point to a bearing of 185° and travel roughly 60-80 feet (you may have to walk around a few objects to accomplish this). After reaching the area, begin your search. The cache is very close.
- The final location coords were taken using a Garmin GPSmap 60CSx, but the location was very difficult to get a good accurate reading, so you may have the same trouble as well. Good "geosense" will tell you where to look. These coords (N35° 13.221 W81° 6.162) are a good representation of the final cache location, but using the info above may prove more helpful.
- No hints are available unless a DNF is logged and a message is sent requesting one. If you can log a DNF at the location of the final, do so, then send me a message asking for a hint. I should receive the message immediately. If you include a phone number in your message, I can call or text you a hint to the location of the final, just specify which method you would prefer.
- The final cache container is a 3"x4"x6" lock-n-lock that has been camo'd and blends well with it's surroundings.
- The actual difficulty rating for the final would be a 2.5 or 3 star.
- When / if you find the container, PLEASE re-hide it AS or better than you found it, keeping in mind the surroundings and what would hide it best.
- Parking is available with plenty of spaces.
WHO WILL BE FIRST
to physically sign the log book for each card?
Congratulations to:
PAPABEAR178 for being FTF overall & FTF on the Vertical card!
KRUEMELS for being FTF on the Horizontal card!
BRATFISCH for being FTF on the Diagonal card!
Final cache has been visited to verify FTF.
It will also be visited regularly to deter armchair claims.

OTHER D/T BINGO CHALLENGE CACHES
As a result of the original D/T Bingo Challenge Cache, H5's D/T BINGO Challenge - Traditional (NC), the following Challenges were created with permission.
(Please remember to follow individual cache rules, they may be different.)
Ump35 & Bee's D/T BINGO Challenge (Maryland) - 8/8/09
GTP's D/T BINGO Challenge (Virginia) - 9/6/09
jeffbouldin's D/T BINGO Challenge (Tennessee) - 10/2/10
Who's next and for which state?
WOULD YOU LIKE ONE IN YOUR STATE
I am honored and humbled to think that anyone would like this challenge enough to want to copy it and ask for permission to copy it for the state that they live in. In early August 2009, I was contacted by the first cacher on the list above who asked if they could copy this cache concept and make one for their state. Without hesitation, I eagerly agreed and couldn't wait to see how well it was accepted in their state. Since then, I have watched that cache grow and become greatly accepted in their area very quickly. Their cache lead to the second cacher contacting me late in the same month for permission to create one in their state as well. Again, without hesitation, I agreed and was excited at the possibility of this becoming a state challenge for all 50 states.
That said .....
If you would like to copy the code used in the creation of this cache, please feel free to use it, BUT I do ask a few things in return. 1) Please give me (Harwell5) credit as the originator of this cache on your cache page, 2) Please post a link to my cache on your cache page, 3) Please contact me (harwellfive@gmail.com), letting me know that you would like to and are going to create one for your state or area and then send me the code or link for your cache page, so I may add your cache (with link to your page) on the list above, 4) Please give it the name as seen in mine or the ones above, with your caching name at the beginning and your state, area or country name in parenthesis. 5) Have fun, sit back and enjoy the logs as they are posted because I will be watching and will enjoy reading them as well.
FINAL WORD
From Harwell5 - At the time I began creating this challenge, I searched intensely on the geocaching.com website for another one like it anywhere in the United States to get ideas or help in putting one together. I exhausted my search and found nothing and continued to build the page, but then while searching again later, I expanded the search abroad and happened across the cache "Let's play BINGO" in North Wales, United Kingdom. While reading, I began seeing similarities in what I was putting together and that cache and thought that I could incoporate some likenesses of it into mine. Some of which made more sense. I continued on all the while still searching for others like it in the USA. THERE WERE NONE found until writing this section today (8/29/09). It seems as though there is now 1 Bingo Challenge (will not name it) similar to mine that went active on 7/20/09 and there are subtle similarities to mine. I am not saying that the CO didn't think of it themselves or that they copied mine, just that it was not active when I created this BINGO Challenge. They say that "imitation is the greatest form of flattery" and I believe that they (whomever they are) are right! Thank you!
