Geocache Description:

This cache should only be done at night - a torch is necessary to complete this search.

This cache is a night cache, using "firetack" reflective markers in the surrounding bush. Firetacks work best when a torch is held at the same height as your eyes - a head torch is perfect. They are less visible when the torch is held at waist level. To complete this cache you will need to start at WP1 and find a micro cache container. This container is on the fence line and has been concealed from the road - you will see it quickly from the back of the fence. Inside this container are the coordinates for WP2 - the start of the firetack trail that will lead you to the final cache (an ammo can). There is tree cover in the area, and although the coordinates were averaged, return visits suggest you may have to look wider than the 2.6m my GPS indicated for accuracy. We approached the cache a number of times from different angles to reduce any error. At WP2 search for the firetacks by shining your torch around you. The nearest firetacks are very close together - three in one tree. Once you see these, walk to the next firetack you see, always looking for the next one. Each firetack is located at a height of 5-6 feet (150-180 cm) from the ground. Generally, but not always, there is a firetack on two trees - walking between these will help guide you. Another alternative is to walk to the side of the tree that the closest firetack is attached to. You should then be able to sight the next firetack in the distance. As you get further into the walk, and closer to GZ, the firetacks will become more frequent. When you can't see anymore you are at GZ. Have a look around, the fire tacks on the last tree should guide you. Please replace the cammo after signing the log. There are some small ants nearby - not biting / nasty ants, but gloves should be considered. I haven't placed firetacks on the return leg, so once you've signed the log you may need to use your GPS to navigate back to your geomobile. The total walk from WP2 to GZ and return should be no more than 400 metres. The nearby trees have metal tags on them. These are less reflective than the firetacks, and when you shine the torch on a firetack you will instantly know there is a difference. I'm sure the tags are there for a reason (but I don't know what it is). This cache was inspired by Canberra Night Odyssey by mtrax and forthferalz. While visiting family and friends I decided to create a short night cache in the bush near my family home. There are two hints provided, one for the micro and another for GZ.
