Welcome to BC's FIRST Wherigo
Cache
** Confirmed by Groundspeak
UPDATE
9/29/2010 - Now that Dinotown has closed its doors,
the answer to question 4 is "ROAR".
This is my first Wherigo cartridge and will take you on a short
adventure to various points of interest in the Bridal Falls area.
Upon completion of the cartridge, you will be given the location of
the physical cache which you can locate and sign the enclosed log
book. The posted coordinates will take you to the starting
point for the cartridge, not the physical cache
location.
The cache itself is a small 100ml camo'd lock&lock. Please
make sure that you replace it tightly and securely in the hiding
spot.
In order for you to complete this cache, you or at least one
member of your group must have a compatible Wherigo player (Garmin
Colorado, Garmin Oregon, Pocket PC, etc).
Download the cartridge by clicking here (login using the same username
& password for geocaching.com) and then proceed to the posted
coordinates to begin the adventure.
ONCE YOU'VE MADE THE
FIND
Once you have completed the cartridge, you should upload it at
wherigo.com (don't forget to save it when prompted!). Click here to access the cartridge download
page again and click the Unlock link. Use Option 1 ("Upload your
Save Game") and follow the instructions to log your completion of
the cartridge. Only the cachers with a compatible Wherigo player
should log this at wherigo.com.
On geocaching.com, enter your log as you would on any normal
cache and indicate which Wherigo player you used. If you are in a
group of 2 or more cachers and you don't have a compatible Wherigo
player (but you tagged along), please make note of which cacher in
your group had the compatible Wherigo player.
Final Thoughts
The cartridge itself has been successfully completed on both the
Garmin Colorado and the Garmin Oregon players and is verified to
work properly. I cannot make that same guarantee for any other
players as I do not have access to them. I STRONGLY
recommend that you make sure you have the latest firmware installed
if you are using a Colorado or an Oregon!! If you don't, you may
experience crashes or other unexpected oddities. If you
play the cartridge on a different player and can verify that it
works properly, drop me a line so that I can keep this updated.
If any issues arise while you are playing the cartridge, feel
free to let me know (make sure you let me know specifically what
the problem was and where it occurred).
Good luck and cache on!
