This is really a virtual cache with a log book hidden nearby in a related location. Both parts can be found in lots of snow and are only a short walk apart.
In 1998, The Village of Attica suffered a major flash flood caused by torrential rain from a slow moving thunderstorm. Flood waters were 3' deep on Prospect Street. Two local heroes lost their lives in the rapidly rising flood waters while trying to rescue animals trapped in the lower level of the Attica Veterinary Clinic. The co-ordinates will take you to a memorial related to this event.
The best parking is probably across the street in the small plaza. After reading the memorial, use the dates on it to calculate co-ordinates for the location where the tragedy occured...where you will also find the log book to sign. The co-ords are N 42.52.ABC

When you sign the log, please comment on the event/heroes/memorial. Jason's mother liked the idea of a cache to get more people to see the memorial and I will share the log entries with her. Permission has been granted for both legs. The employees at the log location also know about the cache and are very supportive of its purpose.
There will probably be other muggles to avoid, however, so stealth is required.
