Cache In Trash Out Day is an opportunity for geocachers to help clean up the parks and other cache-friendly places throughout the world. Through our volunteer efforts, we help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor resources.
This year, Jeep® and Groundspeak are sponsoring International Cache In Trash Out Day. For 2007, our fifth annual event, it will be on Saturday, April 14. Together, we make an enormous positive impact with just a little joint effort.
Start Time: 10:00am through 2:00pm
BBQ Lunch: 12:30pm
Location: Onepoto Road, Titahi bay - by the Boatsheds.
Objective: To clean up the Porirua Harbour inner foreshore starting from here and moving South along Titahi Bay Road. The end point is around Pak'n'Save
Support: A safety briefing will kick off the event and we have a Risk Management Plan and Safety Advice supplied by Porirua City Council. They have also supplied gloves and rubbish bags. A trailer will used to carry rubbish bags to a pick up point. Rubbish removal is also taken care of by PCC. A vehicle will have a first aid kit in it.
Please feel free to invite other cachers and keen associates. The more the merrier.
We will have some fun as well - swap some Travel Bugs / Coins, tell a few tales, give out a few spot prizes.
If you can provide some food for a shared BYO BBQ lunch it would be great. Let us know as you register.
CITO T-Shirts will be available after the event - they are subsidised by Groundspeak & Jeep - please indicate sizes and once we have some firm numbers, we can work out the cost.
If you can bring along a tradeable item, we can make up a permanent cache to be placed in recognition of this event.
